PUTA Teachers Welfare Scheme – The Panjab University Teachers’ Association (PUTA) is going to launch a new teachers’ welfare scheme for the teachers. For this scheme, an amount of Rs 1,500 will be deducted from the PPF account of every teacher. This decision was taken in the executive meeting of PUTA held recently.

According to the sources, it was decided in the meeting that the amount
of Rs 1,500 will be deducted from the PPF account of every teacher to create a fund that would be utilized in case of any casualty within the teaching faculty. Apart from this, it was also decided for discussing the matter and ratify it during the general body meeting of Panjab University Teachers’ Association (PUTA).

The president of Panjab University Teachers’ Association (PUTA) Prof Rajesh Gill said that they have decided to take the matter to the general body meeting. The main motive of this scheme is to create a respectable amount at the time of any mishap.
The general body meeting of PUTA (Panjab University Teachers’ Association) has been postponed to 18 December 2018. It was earlier scheduled to be held on December 13.
The university is going to conduct the syndicate elections on 16 December 2018. Apart from this, the elections of deans and secretaries will be conducted on December 17. This scheme has been a long-pending demand of Panjab University Teachers’ Association (PUTA) and career of over 100 teachers had been hanging fire due to this.
