Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana Last Date Extended – The Central Government has extended the last date of Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY) in order to provide free gas connections to BPL families of the nation. Previously, the last date for availing the benefits of free gas connection under Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana was 31 March 2018, which has now been extended till March 31, 2019.
Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana Last Date Extended for One Year
There are a total number of 5968 families deprived of taking advantage of this scheme in Rohtak district. Now, Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana Last Date Extended by one year for giving free gas connections to all BPL families. Apart from this, the central government has also allocated a budget of Rs 1.16 crore for this extension.
Last Date Extended for One Year
The Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Scheme was launched by the Central Government on May 1, 2016, with the aim of bringing happiness to the faces of the poor families of India by providing them a smoke-free environment. Under this scheme, free LPG gas connection was given to poor women. The main motive of the scheme launched by the central government is to provide the poor women with freedom from Chulha. The main objective of this scheme is to promote the use of LPG instead of fossil fuels used for cooking in rural areas. In addition to promoting women empowerment and protecting their health is also there.
66,713 Families Got Benefits in Jind Haryana
There are 66713 BPL families in Jind district, which got this free gas connection. Previously, the government had fixed the last date of the plan as 31 March 2018. During this period 60,745 BPL families in the district have availed themselves of this scheme. Despite the time of March 31, all eligible families were unable to get free gas connections. That’s why the government had to increase the time of the scheme. There are 5968 BPL families in this district, who have not got the benefit of this scheme. The government has extended the time for this scheme to give benefit to these families. For this, the government has also allocated a budget of Rs 1.16 crore.
Apply At Oil Companies
Those BPL families who have not availed the benefits of this scheme have to apply directly to the oil companies to avail the benefits. This application will be verified by the District Food and Supply Department. The department will only verify the applications and send it to the oil companies. After this, oil companies will make these gas connections available to the people.
Gas Connection in Rs.1650
Under this scheme, oil companies are charging 1650 rupees. In this, a stove of 990 rupees and a fee of 660 rupees is being charged. Along with this, a copy of gas connection, regulator, pipes, gas cylinders is also being given.
