The Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi will launch the Jaivik Kheti Portal (जैविक खेती पोर्टल) for the farmers of the nation for promoting organic farming. PM Modi will inaugurate this web portal at the Krishi Unnati Mela (Indian Agricultural Fair) organized from 16 March to 18 March 2018 at IARI Pusa, New Delhi. The Jaivik Kheti Portal will provide the facility of digital technology in agriculture, precision farming, organic farming and other agri-business models.

The Organic Farming is required for the health of soil, ecosystems and people.This web portal will provide live demonstration tips to the farmers. It will also provide tips on the integrated farming system, new crop growing technologies and protected cultivation.
The organic farming favors ecological processes, biodiversity and cycles as per local conditions. It also put an end to the use of inputs having adverse effects. Hon’ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate this Jaivik Kheti Portal / Organic Farming Portal tomorrow i.e. 17 March 2018.
Details of Jaivik Kheti /Organic Farming
The Organic Farming (जैविक खेती) emphasizes on crop and livestock production. It also prohibits the utilization of pesticides, fertilizers, genetically modified organisms, antibiotics and growth hormones. This farming scheme will also ensure sustainability, increase in soil fertility and biological diversity. After that, this type of farming uses the natural substances while prohibiting synthetic substances.
The Jaivik Khti/Organic Farming (जैविक खेती) mainly emphasizes on the utilization of the organic fertilizers such as compost manure, green manure etc. Besides this, it also focus on the utilization of ancient techniques like crop rotation and companion planting. Besides this, it also stresses on biological methods for pest control, mixed cropping and also fosters insect predators. The जैविक खेती is a combination of tradition, innovation and science.
Krishi Unnati Mela 2018
Krishi Unnati Mela 2018 organized by Indian Agricultural Research Institute (ICAR) will be organized in Pusa from 16 to 18 March. This fair Fair is being organized jointly by Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Ministry and ICAR.
The farmers will be able to get the benefits of free checking of soil and water in the fair. Types of crops, period of crops, water for crops, fertilizers and pesticides etc. are such topics on which agricultural scientists are constantly working. But there is a need to focus more on this.
In thi agriculture fair, the farmers can get information on micro-irrigation, water use technology, irrigation system, recycling process for wastewater, bio-fertilizers etc. During this fair, PM will launch Jaivik Kheti Portal for farmers. Not only this, but he will also launch 25 Krishi Vigyan Kendras (KVKs) and Biennial National Conference on KVK.
