Now Chhatisgarh Govt. will Provided Free Gas Connections for 35 Lakh Families

The state government of Chhatisgarh has decided to provide free gas connection to the 35 lakh families instead of 25 lakh under Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana. This decision was taken by the Chief Minister Dr. Raman Singh during the review of the scheme.

At present, the government has provided free gas connections to the 6.40 lakh families. However, the scheme was launched on 13 August. The Chief Minister said that the target is to provide 10 lakh free gas connections in current financial year. Against this, the Oil companies have received 10 lakh 53 thousand applications.

The government has instructed them to ensure the delivery of 10 lakh gas connections by the end March. And there is also need to speed up requirement process of gas distributors. He also said the remote areas of Bastar and Sarguja divisions including Division Agricultural Produce Market Committees, cooperatives, and women’s self-help groups should also be a distributor.

The chief minister has instructed to complete all necessary procedures and appoint new distributors until April 50.

Raipur Tilda new bottling plant of Bharat Petroleum Company will begin work by September this year. With this company, Indian Oil and Hindustan Petroleum at Gopalpur in Korba district’s new bottling plant in Janjgir action figure is in progress.

There are four gas bottling plants operating at Siltara, Mandir Hasud, Rasmada and Bhitouli. The capacity of the four plants is 15 lakh gas cylinders.
