Mukhyamantri Krishi Sanjeevani Yojana – The state government of Maharashtra led by the Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri Devendra Fadnavis has launched a major amnesty scheme named “Maharashtra Mukhyamantri Krishi Sanjivani Yojana 2017” for the farmers of the state who are unable to pay the energy bill.

Maharashtra Government has to recover a total amount of Rs 10,890 crore from about 41 lakh farmers in the state under the Maharashtra Mukhyamantri Krishi Sanjivani Yojana 2017. Under this scheme, the Energy Department will waive their penalty and interest of Rs 8,164 crore on the total pending electricity bills of Rs 19,272 crore.

The Hon’ble Energy Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule has made the announcement of Chief Minister Krishi Sanjivani Yojana – 2017’ scheme for 41 lakh farmers on the eve of completion of three years of Devendra Fadnavis Government. All the farmers of the state who are unable to pay their pending electricity bills since 2012 will be provided benefits from this scheme. Although each consumer including farmers should clear their present bill.

Minister informed that the farmers will have to pay their present bill within seven days in order to avoid disconnection. He also warned the farmers to pay their dues failing which their electricity connection will be snapped.

He claimed that the Energy Department did not disconnect their electricity connections for last three years but the pending amount has reached the a huge and it is very difficult for the Power Holding Company to purchase the electricity and provide it in minimum rates.

Minister stated that all the farmers, who have their due bills below Rs 30,000, can pay their pending bills in five installments from December 2017 to December 2018. All the farmers can pay their pending bills in such a way i.e. first installment in December 2017, second installment in March 2018, third installment in June 2018, fourth installment in September 2018 and last installment in December 2018.

Apart from this, all the farmers who have to pay their due above Rs 30,000, can pay their pending bills in an interval of 45 days in 10 installments. If the farmers fail to get the benefits of this scheme, then they have to pay the pending bills along with the interest and the penalty. For providing the benefits of the scheme, the department will organize special camps for the farmers to clear their dues.
