Karnataka Mukhya Mantri Anila Bhagya Yojana – According to the Food and Civil Supply Minister, U T Khader, the Karnataka Mukhya Mantri Anila Bhagya Yojana under which free LPG connections will be provided to BPL the families will be in place by 10 July.
Khader informed that BPL card holders who do not get the benefits of the Central Government’s Pradhan Mantri Ujjwal Yojana will be eligible for the scheme.
Under Karnataka Mukhya Mantri Anila Bhagya Yojana, a free LPG cylinder along with regulator, tube and stove will be provided to the BPL card holders. Each connection will cost the government Rs 1,920 which will be provided directly to the oil marketing companies.
The eligible and needy applicants who are willing to apply for this scheme can visit their jurisdictional gram panchayats. The state government has estimated Rs 600 crore for the scheme.
Minister informed that option of choosing either kerosene or free rechargeable LED sets will be given to ration card holders in rural areas with gas connection.
He said that technical problems in processing the applications for the issuing of new BPL cards had been solved. The cards will be sent to the applicants by Speed Post soon. A circular that barred renewal of a license to fair price shops if the owner has crossed 65 years has been withdrawn.
