Karnataka Ganga Kalyana Scheme 2018 – The Karnataka Minority Development Corporation Ltd. has invited the online application form for Ganga Kalyana Scheme 2018. Under this scheme, the state government will provide one drilled borewell / open well with the pump set from KDMC or lift irrigation facility to the eligible and needy beneficiaries of the state. All the applicants who are willing to avail the benefits of the scheme must belong to the minority community and must be a small/marginal farmer. Besides this, the KDMC will also bear the whole expenditure of Rs. 1.5 lakh for construction of borewells to promote the agricultural activities.

Eligibility Criteria for Ganga Kalyan Scheme 2018
- Applicant must belong to the minority community
- Applicant must be a permanent resident of Karnataka.
- He/she must be a small or marginal farmer.
- Applicant’s family’s annual income from all sources must not exceed Rs. 22,000 p.a
Note – All the farmers of Karnataka having less than 5 acres of land in addition to the precondition that the land of 7 minority persons is adjacent can also avail the benefits of the Lift Irrigation Scheme under Ganga Kalyana Scheme 2018.
Individual Borewell – Eligibility for Ganga Kalyana Scheme 2018
Under the Karnataka Ganga Kalyana Scheme, KDMC provides a subsidy for the construction of individual borewell in case of non-availability of perennial water sources to irrigate the land. For this purpose, the expert geologists identify the water points inside the ground appropriate for construction of borewell. After that, KDMC maintains these borewells for 5 years and then transfers them to consumer co-operatives of beneficiaries.
Apart from this KDMC will drill a single borewell / open well and supply pump sets to the farmers who have land holding between 2 to 5 acres. Let we inform you that this scheme cost a total amount of Rs. 1,50,000 per beneficiary. It also includes the pump and energization expense. The eligibility criteria are same as mentioned above.
