On Wednesday, the Jharkhand Chief Minister and Rural Development Minister Neelkanth Singh Munda laid the foundation of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana – Gramin (PMAYG) in Ranchi District, Patratu village of Chutu panchayat under Kanke Block.
On this occasion, the Chief Minister said that in the case of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) implementation, the Jharkhand is on the third spot. He also said if the officials would work with full dedication during the five-day for the proper implementation of the scheme than this month the state would be at the first spot.
Minister said that after 70 years of Independence a large number of people are homeless and living in mud houses. In the General Budget 2017-18, the Central government has increased the allocation of fund for the scheme from 15,000 crores to 23,000 crores to achieve the target of housing for all by 2022.
On this occasion, the Chief Secretary Rajabala Verma said that under PM Awas Yojana (PMAY) about two lakh candidates have been registered online. While the Rural Development Minister Neelkanth Singh Munda claimed that the state government will construct houses for five lakh homeless people by 2019 with A-One standard quality.
Chief Minister Das said that the government will create employment opportunities by training the youth as carpenters and skilled construction workers and even the women would be trained for self-employment. He also announced that the road connecting Ranchi to Ormanjhi via Bodeya and Chandwe would be expanded and one lakh Sakhi Mandals would be given smartphones for encouraging online transactions.
He also given the sanction of house letters to the beneficiaries of the scheme and laid the foundation stone for construction of the house of one Jatri Devi and also distributed certificates to those trained in various crafts.
