With an aim of providing ‘Housing For All‘ by 2022 under the most ambitious Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, about one crore houses will be constructed upto March 2019. This scheme will include homeless poor, poor families living in houses of one or two-room mud wall and ceiling. This scheme has been launched by Prime Minister on November 20 from Agra. The main provision of this scheme is to provide environmentally safe and permanent houses to all rural households by 2022.
According to the new scheme, about Rs.1.50 to Rs. 1.60 lakh per unit will be available to each beneficiary. There is also a provision of a Bank loan up to Rs. 70,000/- for the beneficiaries, if required. During the program, PM Modi viewed over 40 designs from over 200 designs made by keeping in mind the basic needs of people. He also communicates with the candidates who successfully completed the rural training Masons.
Under Prime Minister Awas Yojana Gramin (PMAY-G), beneficiaries were also given acceptance certificates by Prime Minister Narender Modi in Agra. 1 crore houses will be made by March 2019. The selection process of beneficiaries was completed on the basis of Socio Economic Census 2011 and by the approval of the gram sabha. Homeless poor, poor families living in houses of one or two-room mud wall and ceiling are included in this process.
With the maximum use of local building materials, the provision of complete facilities such as electrical connections, cooking space, LPGA bathroom and toilet are will be provided in the houses. The payment process will be completed by IT/DBT mode. IT / ICT and space technology will monitor the progress of work using Awas soft MIS. The Prime Minister also interacted with the beneficiaries, whose houses was constructed by new designs.
