In order to distribute free smartphones to 56 lakh people in Chhattisgarh, the state government has launched Chhattisgarh Suchna Kranti Yojana (SKY). Over 2000 Gram Panchayats are being added in the state through National Optical Fiber Network. More than 5 thousand public service centers are being operated in the state by Chhattisgarh Infotech Promotion Society (Chips), an institution of Information and Technology Department of Dr. Raman Singh Government.

Chief Minister Raman Singh has also announced the Chhattisgarh Suchna Kranti Yojana (SKY) in order to promote the Digital India campaign of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Under this scheme, preparing to provide free smartphones to 55 to 56 lakh poor, women and college level students. Chief Minister Dr. Raman Singh has started a planned effort towards enhancing mobile phone, road and rail connectivity while emphasizing the concept of connectivity revolution in the state.

It is also the main objective of this scheme to facilitate phone calls in more and more households in rural areas of the state. Through smartphones given under the scheme, people will be able to get the benefit of various government-funded schemes as soon as possible. In this era of communication revolution, Chhattisgarh has reached the number of mobile phone connections in the last 17 years of the state building exceeding 1 crore 66 lakh 65 thousand.

At the time of state formation, in the year 2000, the number of mobile phone connections in the state was not equal. Dr. Raman Singh Government has also started the Bastar Net project with the help of the Central Government to increase communication network in Bastar. Under this, 832 km of optical fiber cable rings will be laid at a cost of 40 crores. On the initiative of CM, 146 new mobile towers have been set up to increase mobile connectivity in Maoist-affected areas. As a result, the state government has been talking about the end of the Maoist problem by 2022.
